SALARY RANGE:

$84,011-$160,000 per year

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide medical, diagnostic, and surgical care to companion animals. Provide direct patient care, engage in client communication, and collaborate with veterinary support staff to ensure optimal health outcomes. Perform physical exams, diagnose medical conditions, and develop comprehensive treatment plans. Interpret diagnostic results including bloodwork, radiographs, and ultrasounds. Administer anesthesia, including performing pre-anesthetic evaluation, patient risk assessment, and selection of anesthetic agents. Perform surgical procedures, including spaying and neutering, soft tissue surgery, mass tissue removals, and orthopedic surgeries. Prescribe medications and treatments. Communicate with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventative care. Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with clinic protocols and regulatory standards. Collaborate with technicians and support staff to ensure efficient and compassionate care for companion animals.

EDUCATION/

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or foreign equivalent; and California Veterinary License. Must have: Ability to perform physical exams, diagnose medical conditions, and develop comprehensive treatment plans; Ability to perform soft tissue surgery and mass tissue removals; Ability to administer anesthesia, including performing pre-anesthetic evaluation, patient risk assessment, and selection of anesthetic agents; Ability to use stethoscope, otoscope, ophthalmoscope, syringes and needles, X-ray and ultrasound machines, scalpel and surgical instruments, microscope, anesthesia machine, IV catheters, and dental equipment; Ability to work on the weekend (at least one weekend day per week); Ability to work late hours (until 08:00 PM Pacific Time); and Ability to work in two (2) hospital locations in Orange County, California, including 6832 Edinger Ave, Huntington Beach, California 92647; and 3208 East Chapman Ave, Orange, California 92869.
